Birthday wishes

This card is for my sister-in-law, whose birthday was yesterday. She likes gold, but I couldn’t make gold flowers, so I settled for yellow, with a gold heat embossed sentiment and gold embellishments. The stencil and stamp combination are called Buds and Blossoms by Taylored Expressions, and the Sentiment Staples stamp set is also by Taylored Expressions. The inks are Simon Hurley’s Later Gator and Slippery When Wet, Ranger Archival Ink in Sunflower, and Gina K. Sweet Mango. I used Ranger’s Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder in Gold, and Gorgeous Gold Baubles from Trinity Stamps.

In other news, this is my 100th post, and I want to thank all my readers and commenters, but especially my friend who gave me the impetus to start this blog back up and be consistent in posting. S.T., I can’t thank you enough. I’ll also be moving from Blogger to my own website soon, so stick around for that announcement.

Happy Easter!

I did some tone on tone stenciling using the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Eggs stencil and Bubblegum Pink, Peach Bellini, Lemon Drop, Applemint, Sea Glass, and Lovely Lavender inks from Gina K. I topped it with the Giant Happy Easter die from Lawn Fawn. I stacked several die cuts to give it dimension. I then trimmed it with the Large Rectangle Stackables from Lawn Fawn and attached to a mint panel from my stash with foam tape. Hard to believe Easter’s almost here!

Fantastical fun

This card is in honor of my nephew, who loves fantasy. I used the Waffle Flower Open Book die, Dragon Castle coloring stencil, and Open Book Sentiments stamp set. I used Gina K. inks in Blue Denim, Red Hot, and Sweet Corn for the dragon and book. The gold accents are done with Simon Hurley’s Lunar Paste in Slippery When Wet and the background is Hero Arts Bold Script. All the black ink is Tsukineko VersaFine Onyx Black.

Repetition is the key

This card has a simple design-stamps from Lawn Fawn’s Celebration Scripty Sentiments and Hoppy Easter repeated in Gina K.’s Bubblegum Pink, Peach Bellini, Lemon Drop, Applemint, Sea Glass, and Lovely Lavender inks. The large Happy Easter is by Newton’s Nook and is mounted on a vellum shadow layer. Finally, I added sequins from Stage Lights by Trinity Stamps.

Sweets for the sweet

On this card, I stamped candy hearts using Newton’s Nook Candy Heart stamp and Gina K. inks in Bubblegum Pink, Peach Bellini, Lemon Drop, Applemint, Sea Glass, and Lovely Lavender. The messages are stamped in Red Hot. I cut the hugs sentiment from the CZ Designs Basic Trio set out of white cardstock three times and stacked them up, then cut the sentiment and a background panel from Simon Says Stamp Matte Silver cardstock. I glued the silver sentiment on top of the stacked white sentiments and attached them to the trimmed out candy heart panel. I then glued the silver backer panel to an A2 card base and attached the candy heart panel on top with foam tape. I enjoy making my own custom patterned papers using stamps.

Quatrefoil fun

I combined a stencil and stamp set to make this card, and used another set for the sentiment. The inks used were Gina K. Passionate Pink, Wild Lilac, and Red Velvet, and the stamp/stencil set was from Scrapbook and Cards Today. The sentiment is by Hero Arts. A somewhat unconventional Valentine!

For a dear friend

A dear friend of mine is having a birthday today, and her favorite color is pink, so I recreated this Gina K. card from the Crop & Create Spring 2023 event for her. It uses the Curved Floral Banner die and stencil, the Masks and Fillers stencil, Passionate Pink, Lucky Clover, Red Hot, Soft Stone, and Turquoise Sea inks, the Sweet Sentiments stamp set, and iridescent sequins.

Happy birthday!

Another birthday card. I have several family and friends’ birthdays here at the beginning of the year. This is a Gina K inspired card as well, featuring the Fancy Feathers and Master Layout 2 dies, the Fizzy stencil, and Passionate Pink, Wild Lilac, and Turquoise Sea inks.

Wintry Days!

It seems like it’s been cold everywhere lately. Here in Texas, we’ve had quite a spell of unseasonably freezing temperatures-the perfect time to stay inside and be creative. I staged this card instead of my usual card only picture-let me know if you like the change.

The card uses Gina K. stencils and stamps, with Stellar Snowflake in the background, created with White Shimmer Delicata ink. The smaller snowflakes are from Last Minute Labels and Blizzard. They were stamped with embossing ink and heat embossed with white tinsel embossing powder. I finished off the card with some silver sequins and popped the blue panel up using foam tape onto a silver card base.

Happy Mail

I used the new Postage Collage Coloring set from Waffle Flower for today's card. The inks are from a variety of companies, mostly Gina K. and Concord & 9th. The coordinating die cuts the perforations around the stamps. Now to make some holiday cards-or do my Crop & Create September 2023 homework-I can't decide which! The Crop & Create event will be here before I know it, so I should probably work on that. But I really don't want to run out of time for all the holiday cards I want to make like I did last year. Such are the decisions of a carmaker!

Out of This World!

This week's cards are gifts for two of my nephews. Their mom says they are always excited to see what my cards do, so I made them special slider cards with their interests. The younger one likes mythology and the older one likes space. I also made my granddaughter a space card, since that's what she's into. Hers has a rocket ship that takes off from the moon when you pull a tab. All of the interactive designs and stamp sets are from Lawn Fawn, and were colored with Copic markers. The clouds behind the dragon were done in Gina K. inks and the galaxy with Distress Inks and Oxides. I hope they like them!

Make a wish!

Birthday card using the eclipse technique and Pretty Pink Posh's Wish stamp and die set, Ranger Fine Detail white embossing powder, and Gina K. inks in Red Velvet, Tangerine Twist, Wild Dandelion, Lucky Clover, Turquoise Sea, Wild Lilac, and Passionate Pink. I've had this idea since I got this set, so it was good to finally put it to use. My ink blending could still use some improvement, especially using the small brushes I used for this.

A frosty Christmas

A frosty Christmas card courtesy of Gina K. Designs. The snowflakes are from her Blizzard set, stamped and embossed with silver embossing powder. The sentiment is from the same set, stamped with Blue Lagoon ink.. It's hard to tell, but for the background I blended Sea Glass, Turquoise Sea, and Blue Lagoon. Unfortunately, it came out blotchier than I wanted, so I topped it with vellum. Both of those layers were cut with Master Layouts 1. The panel with the snowflakes is cut with Master Layouts 2. The sequins I had in my stash. After the blistering 100 degree plus heat here in Texas, it was fun to work on something cool.

A Huge Thank You!

I've been gone from my computer and card making supplies for a couple of weeks while I took care of my youngest daughter at her house while her father (who she primarily lives with) went to South Carolina to care for our granddaughter while our oldest daughter and son-in-law went to St. Augustine. This required some rearranging of schedules at my work, so I decided to make cards thanking the coworkers who covered for me. This one uses Simon Hurley's Geo Circles stencils with Gina K. Wild Dandelion and Turquoise Sea inks and a thanks word from Hero Arts. I also added a few silver sequins for sparkle, as well as painting the thanks with Wink of Stella. I used Gina K.'s Master Layouts 2 to trim the panels and popped it up on foam tape before attaching to the card base.

It's May!

This card was done while playing Craft Roulette, which is a YouTube show on Friday nights. I'd actually never seen it before because I have a standing date with my daughter on Fridays, but she was sick so I happened to see this one. In Craft Roulette, you have to make a project that incorporates four elements that are spun for on a wheel. Last night the elements were: 3 tags, rose colors, May, and masking. I immediately thought of the song from the musical Camelot, where the court goes a-Maying. They sing, of course, this being a musical, and the beginning of the song is, "Tra-la, it's May..." If you want to know the rest of the song, I suggest you search it on the web. My mother's favorite flowers were yellow roses, and it being ten years since we lost her, I decided I wanted to use yellow as one of my rose colors. I picked peach to go with it because we had a peach rosebush in front of the house I used to live in and I always liked it. I masked off the checkerboard design on the tags with Gina K. Masking Magic Strips. The letters in May are cut with Henry's ABCs from Lawn Fawn, and the stamped letters are from a Hero Arts set. The tags are all dies from Sizzix, and the flower buds are Taylored Expressions Buds and Blossoms set. The tra la is stamped in Concord & 9th Grapefruit.

Fun with Gina K.!

Here's another card from the Crop & Create Delivered Spring 2023 classes. This one was taught by the incredible Gina K. using her new Curved Floral Banner stencil and die set along with her Masks and Fillers stencil and her beautiful inks as well as Master Layout 2. I love how it turned out.

Shake things up!

I love to make shaker cards and I've had the idea for this one for a long time. The Lawn Fawn bunnies and eggs on the front were stamped and embossed in Ranger Fine Detail white embossing powder and then I ink blended over them. The large egg cut out is from Lawn Fawn's Outside In Easter Egg Stackables. On the inside, I stamped and white embossed again this time using the Simon Says Stamp Doodle Egg Background stamp. Then I used Altenew foam tape to put it all together and decorated the front with some Gina K. sequins. The shaker fill is Brutus Monroe's Spring sequin mix. I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire to mix it up and use products from different companies together. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Happy Easter to all who celebrate and for those that don't I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Friendship wreath!

This card was made for the February 2023 Wreath Challenge in the Gina K. Designs and StampTV Friends Facebook group. I used the Gina K. Wreath Builder, Prickly Pear, Blue Lagoon, and Wild Lilac inks, and the Holiday Wreath Builder and Mini Wreath Builder stamp sets for the wreath and the Autumn Wreath Builder stamps for the sentiment. I used Master Layouts 3 to cut everything out. I enjoyed creating an anytime card using holiday themed sets.

Thankful, grateful, blessed

I am thankful, grateful, and blessed this year. I had almost stopped crafting due to the shaking in my hands, but I decided this time last year to give it another chance. I really missed being creative. I was able to find tools to minimize my physical limits, and now I'm enjoying myself again. This card was done with the Gina K. Wreath Builder System, Autumn Wreath Builder stamp set, and her Autumn ink selection as well as Master Layouts 2. I did use cream and dark brown instead of white and black as she often does.
