Chunky hearts

A simple, graphic card for my final valentine of the year. The die I used is the CZ Designs Chunky Hearts Die by Simon Says Stamp. I cut the shadow out of vellum and the red and purple hearts from paper in my stash. The center shape is out of Lawn Fawn’s Pixie Dust cardstock and the frame is Simon Says Stamp Matte Silver cardstock. I then mounted the design on a pink A2 card from my stash using foam squares. Happy Valentine’s Day to all who celebrate!

Sweets for the sweet

On this card, I stamped candy hearts using Newton’s Nook Candy Heart stamp and Gina K. inks in Bubblegum Pink, Peach Bellini, Lemon Drop, Applemint, Sea Glass, and Lovely Lavender. The messages are stamped in Red Hot. I cut the hugs sentiment from the CZ Designs Basic Trio set out of white cardstock three times and stacked them up, then cut the sentiment and a background panel from Simon Says Stamp Matte Silver cardstock. I glued the silver sentiment on top of the stacked white sentiments and attached them to the trimmed out candy heart panel. I then glued the silver backer panel to an A2 card base and attached the candy heart panel on top with foam tape. I enjoy making my own custom patterned papers using stamps.

Not exactly needlework

For this card I used the Lace Heart Kaleidoscope background stamp from Simon Says Stamp and stamped it with my Lawn Fawn Plastic Flamingo ink. I stamped the Heartfelt Love stamp from Newton’s Nook on pink paper and heat embossed it with Ranger Super Fine Detail Powder in white, then cut it out using the scalloped heart from the Newton’s Nook Heart Frames set and adhered it to the kaleidoscope panel using foam squares. The sentiment is also from the Heartfelt Love set. This card reminds me of needlework, quilting and embroidery.

L-O-V-E!

.

A simple, yet bold sentiment on a stenciled background. The letters are from a die by Scrapbook.com out of Simon Says Stamp’s Matte Silver cardstock and the stencil is the Lots of Hearts Background stencil by Lawn Fawn. The pink hearts were stenciled with Lawn Fawn’s Plastic Flamingo ink and the silver hearts with Simon Hurley’s Lunar Paste in Silver Lining. The pink papers are from my stash.

Heart of Hearts

This card combines a stencil from Brutus Monroe with a stamp from Hero Arts. I started with pink cardstock and then stenciled with a darker pink, red, and purple. I added white splatters for some texture. The text stamp is embossed with white embossing powder on a slightly darker pink cardstock and fussy cut, then popped up on foam tape. The “sending love” sentiment is white heat embossed as well, but it thankfully has a die to cut the words out.

Love you lots!

This card was inspired by the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge, Lots of Heart! I used the Valentines Hearts Border die set with Peacock, Blue Jay, Raspberry, Chili Pepper, Fake Tan, Sunflower, Noble Fir, and white cardstock, then mounted the rows of hearts on Licorice cardstock. The sentiment is from Wavy Sayings, stamped in Jet Black ink and cut out with a Simple Wavy Banners die. Some of the hearts were accented with Crystal Stickles.

Long time no see!

I had become discouraged with this blog and decided to give up on it. But a friend encouraged me to start anew, so here we are with my first card for 2026. It’s for the Newton’s Nook Inky Paws Challenge for January, and features their postage die with their Valentine postage set and Lovely Hearts paper pad. This challenge was a color challenge to use cinnamon red, soft pink, lilac, and buttercream white on the card. All images were colored with Copic markers and popped up on thin foam squares. The inside says Happy Valentine’s Day.

3-dimensional card!

Here's a card I made for the Inky Paws Color Challenge. The colors were cherry red, daffodil yellow, pewter gray, and white. The card is kind of a shadow box with Newton floating on a piece of acetate. I made the plaid and the paw print papers using Newton's Nook stencils. Little red and yellow twine bows finish off the card. I wanted to repurpose a Valentine's stamp set, so this one uses the sentiment from another Newton set to wish you a happy PURR-thday!

This card was selected by Amy as an Inky Paws Favorite! Thank you Amy!

Hopefully, that's over...

I've really been off my card making game recently. I've had back problems, then I had COVID, then we had an ice storm that stranded me at my daughter's house for a week. I need to get back to crafting, for my own mental health. I made a set of four Valentine's Day cards for my family. I stenciled four different color combinations using the same stencil and then paper pieced them using the CZ Designs Heart Panes cover plate die from Simon Says Stamp. The "love you" is also a CZ Design from Simon. I cut the frame and shadow layer from Simon's matte silver cardstock. The red paper is from my stash. The interior of the card has "Happy Valentine's Day" stamped below a row of hearts.
