Éire go deo!

Which means Ireland Forever! It’s a few days early, but I wanted to share this St. Patrick’s Day card. I only used three shades of green instead of forty, but I still like the effect. Stamps are by Lawn Fawn, their Celebration Scripty Sentiments and Simply Celebrate Spring sets, along with their Noble Fir ink. The other two colors are Later Gator and Fake Plant, both by Simon Hurley for Ranger. I also used Ranger’s Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder in gold and Simon Says Stamp Gold Matte cardstock. The panels were cut with Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables, and the top panel was popped up on Altenew foam tape.

Hoppy days are here again

Hoppy Days Ahead is the name of the Simon Says Stamp set I used for the bunny and flower. I colored them both with Copic markers, although the flower didn’t dry to the shade I wanted. I used Newton’s Nook Oval Frames to cut Lawn Fawn’s Spiffy Speckled paper and inked the edges of the rectangle with their Sugarplum ink. Couldn’t find room for a sentiment, but I think the sweet bunny speaks for himself.

Chunky hearts

A simple, graphic card for my final valentine of the year. The die I used is the CZ Designs Chunky Hearts Die by Simon Says Stamp. I cut the shadow out of vellum and the red and purple hearts from paper in my stash. The center shape is out of Lawn Fawn’s Pixie Dust cardstock and the frame is Simon Says Stamp Matte Silver cardstock. I then mounted the design on a pink A2 card from my stash using foam squares. Happy Valentine’s Day to all who celebrate!

Sweets for the sweet

On this card, I stamped candy hearts using Newton’s Nook Candy Heart stamp and Gina K. inks in Bubblegum Pink, Peach Bellini, Lemon Drop, Applemint, Sea Glass, and Lovely Lavender. The messages are stamped in Red Hot. I cut the hugs sentiment from the CZ Designs Basic Trio set out of white cardstock three times and stacked them up, then cut the sentiment and a background panel from Simon Says Stamp Matte Silver cardstock. I glued the silver sentiment on top of the stacked white sentiments and attached them to the trimmed out candy heart panel. I then glued the silver backer panel to an A2 card base and attached the candy heart panel on top with foam tape. I enjoy making my own custom patterned papers using stamps.

Not exactly needlework

For this card I used the Lace Heart Kaleidoscope background stamp from Simon Says Stamp and stamped it with my Lawn Fawn Plastic Flamingo ink. I stamped the Heartfelt Love stamp from Newton’s Nook on pink paper and heat embossed it with Ranger Super Fine Detail Powder in white, then cut it out using the scalloped heart from the Newton’s Nook Heart Frames set and adhered it to the kaleidoscope panel using foam squares. The sentiment is also from the Heartfelt Love set. This card reminds me of needlework, quilting and embroidery.

L-O-V-E!

.

A simple, yet bold sentiment on a stenciled background. The letters are from a die by Scrapbook.com out of Simon Says Stamp’s Matte Silver cardstock and the stencil is the Lots of Hearts Background stencil by Lawn Fawn. The pink hearts were stenciled with Lawn Fawn’s Plastic Flamingo ink and the silver hearts with Simon Hurley’s Lunar Paste in Silver Lining. The pink papers are from my stash.

Birthday Background

This card uses Taylored Expressions Party Vibes Background, stamped and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail White embossing powder. I then blended Bubblegum, Lemonade, Mermaid, and Grape Soda Lawn Fawn inks across it. I cut it down using a Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles die. I used a CZ Design by Simon Says Stamp happy birthday die. I colored the letters with the same Bubblegum ink I used for the blending. I mounted it on a 4.25x5.5 top folding notecard. I then finished it off with a few iridescent sequins.

Shiny!

This is an entry into Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge. The theme this week was Anything Goes, so I pulled out some products I've been wanting to play with: Lindy's Magical Powders! You can't really tell from the picture, but the background is very shimmery. I first embossed the SSS Arches background stamp in white on watercolor paper. Then I wet the paper thoroughly and flicked on the powders. I combined Beach Ball Blue and Dip a Toe Teal. The sentiment is CZ Designs for Simon Says Stamp, and I used SSS Matte Silver Cardstock for the mat and sentiment. Both panels are cut with Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles. I then added a few silver sequins just for fun.

Shake things up!

I love to make shaker cards and I've had the idea for this one for a long time. The Lawn Fawn bunnies and eggs on the front were stamped and embossed in Ranger Fine Detail white embossing powder and then I ink blended over them. The large egg cut out is from Lawn Fawn's Outside In Easter Egg Stackables. On the inside, I stamped and white embossed again this time using the Simon Says Stamp Doodle Egg Background stamp. Then I used Altenew foam tape to put it all together and decorated the front with some Gina K. sequins. The shaker fill is Brutus Monroe's Spring sequin mix. I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire to mix it up and use products from different companies together. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Happy Easter to all who celebrate and for those that don't I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Happy St. Patrick's Day a little early!

May the luck of the Irish be with you! This card uses some shamrock patterned paper I had in my stash, textured green cardstock, and bright white cardstock. The die is by CZ Designs for Simon Says Stamp and the sentiment is from a Newton's Nook set. The green sequins are from Trinity Stamps Plastic Pine Tree set. I used Wink of Stella clear to paint all the white shamrock outlines, though you can't tell in the picture. The sentiment was stamped with Distress Ink in Pine Needles.

Congratulations Grandmother!

A dear friend of mine welcomed a new granddaughter a few days ago and I made her this card to celebrate. The baby girl paper is from my stash, the letters were cut using Lawn Fawn's Henry's ABCs, the vellum heart was cut with Newton's Nook Heart Frames, and the bunnies are from Simon Says Stamp Hoppy Days Ahead collection. They were colored with Copic markers. I hope she likes it!

Hopefully, that's over...

I've really been off my card making game recently. I've had back problems, then I had COVID, then we had an ice storm that stranded me at my daughter's house for a week. I need to get back to crafting, for my own mental health. I made a set of four Valentine's Day cards for my family. I stenciled four different color combinations using the same stencil and then paper pieced them using the CZ Designs Heart Panes cover plate die from Simon Says Stamp. The "love you" is also a CZ Design from Simon. I cut the frame and shadow layer from Simon's matte silver cardstock. The red paper is from my stash. The interior of the card has "Happy Valentine's Day" stamped below a row of hearts.

Hoppy Easter!

This card is for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. The theme is Easter/Spring, and this card is one of my favorites so far. I love tone on tone designs, and so I fell in love with the bunny paper from Doodlebug Designs. I paired it with some aqua cardstock and cut both backgrounds and the banner using the Newton's Nook Frames and Flags set. I stamped out the Lawn Fawn bunnies and colored them in various shades of brown using Copic markers, and then cut them out with the coordinating dies. I stamped the sentiment using Lawn Fawn's Peacock ink. I popped the bunnies and sentiment up on some thin foam squares.

Hoppy Days Ahead

More bunnies from the Hoppy Days Ahead set by Simon Says Stamp. I used the papers from the March 2022 Card Kit of the Month, which is also where the stamps came from. The bunnies, flowers, and sentiment are all in the set. I cut them out with the coordinating dies and colored them with Copic markers. The background dies are from Newton's Nook Slimline Frames and Windows set. I popped the bunnies, flowers, and sentiment  up on some foam squares to give the card some dimension.
