Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday to Lawn Fawn and me! Lawn Fawn is turning sixteen, and well, let’s just say I’m considerably older. This card uses the Giant Birthday Messages stamp & die set, as well as the birthday incentives from 2022-2025, Party Pig, Party Deer, Party Beaver, and Party Cat(Party Fox arrived too late to join in this year.) The images were colored with a mix of Copic markers and Pigma Micron pens, as well as a Pentel Sunburst Metallic Gel for the gold. The center message was mounted on gold cardstock on thin foam squares, and the animals on standard foam squares. Happy birthday to everyone who celebrates this month!

Cool kitty!

This tan kitty knows how to keep cool with glossy sunglasses and a tasty popsicle. The watermelon paper is from the Newton's Nook Summertime pad, and the cat image, die, and sentiment are from their Newton's Summer Treats set. I cut the ovals using the Oval Frame Set, also from Newton's Nook. The solid papers I had in my stash. I colored the cat image with Copic markers and used a black Gelly Roll Glaze pen to color in his sunglasses. The popsicle is covered with Ranger Glossy Accents.

A Purr-maid!

This pretty purr-maid is from Newton's Nook, as are the patterned papers, dies, sentiment (and seahorse). She was colored with Copic Markers and then accented with Glossy Accents on the seashells and Stickles on her tail. A few sequin bubbles complete the card. Made as an entry for Inky Paws Challenge #201, which was a sketch challenge.

Happy (belated) Birthday, America!

I really thought I'd posted this before the holiday. I also thought I'd posted one more time in here, but clearly I did not. Anyway! Lumberjack Plaid and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxides with silver pigment ink for the fireworks. Stencil and cat are from Newton's Nook. Colored with Copic markers and glitter pen for the center of the sparklers. Silver star cut from Simon Says Stamp Silver Matte Cardstock.

Challenge #197-Colors

My entry into the Inky Paws Challenge #197-use olive green, royal blue, sunshine yellow, and white to create a card. I layered pieces cut with the Newton's Nook Circle Frames set and cut from papers I had in my stash, except for the yellow dot-that comes from the Newton's Nook Springtime paper pad. I colored Newton and his fishbowl with Copic markers and backed him with vellum to mute the green and make him stand out a little more. The green circle is mounted on foam tape, as is the banner below. The image of Newton comes from Newton's Summer Vacation, and the sentiment is from Newton's Antics. If I was that fish, I would be very concerned!

Another Purrfect Entry!

This is my entry into the current sketch challenge in the Inky Paws Challenge group. The patterned papers are from the Newton's Nook Birthday Party paper pad, and the image of Newton and his gifts, as well as the sentiment, come from Newton's Birthday Bash. The image was stamped and then colored with Copic markers. Happy birthday!

What a Wonderful Weekend!

I've been out sick for a couple of weeks, but the most important thing I've done recently is attended the Crop and Create Delivered Spring 2023 workshop put on by Scrapbook & Cards Today. I made twenty-five cards and have several more yet to make from the wonderful workshops and fabulous instructors. Thank you Catherine and all the folks at Scrapbook & Cards Today, as well as Sara, Angie, Meghann, Libby, Kim, Laura, Taylor, Simon, Gina, Stephanie, Jenn, Yasmin, Christopher, Cathy, Kelly, Michelle, Angie, and Jennifer. We laughed, we cried, we had the best time. This was my first time attending but definitely won't be my last. The card to the left is a top folding shaped card from the Stamps of Life class. All the needed supplies, from the paper to the felt to the shaker bits to the dies and the paper pad that the kitty with the present is from was provided by Stamps of Life. They aren't the only generous manufacturer, all the class providers sent wonderful assortments of product-twelve and a half pounds total to 2900 attendees! I can't say enough good things about this event!

Thanks, Mom!

An entry for the Stay Crafty With Hero Challenge, although I suspect I'll see it again as a Mother's Day card (my youngest loves handmade cards, she just doesn't like to make them herself.) I used Hero Arts cardstock in Mist and Paradise and cut them in strips of varying widths. Then I adhered them diagonally, along with strips of silver matte cardstock, to the front of a top fold A2 card. I cut the Hero Arts thanks die out of the same silver cardstock and glued it on top. I stamped the cats and small sentiment from the Hero Arts Mother and Father Animals set and colored the cats with Copic markers C1, C3, and R21. I die cut the cates and trimmed the sentiment. I glued the sentiment on and popped the cats up on some foam tape. I then added some silver sequins. Unfortunately, I posted the non-sequined version to Instagram. I think I like this one better.

3-dimensional card!

Here's a card I made for the Inky Paws Color Challenge. The colors were cherry red, daffodil yellow, pewter gray, and white. The card is kind of a shadow box with Newton floating on a piece of acetate. I made the plaid and the paw print papers using Newton's Nook stencils. Little red and yellow twine bows finish off the card. I wanted to repurpose a Valentine's stamp set, so this one uses the sentiment from another Newton set to wish you a happy PURR-thday!

This card was selected by Amy as an Inky Paws Favorite! Thank you Amy!

Kitten's Christmas

I've had this card in mind since I saw the Platform Pop-Up and Christmas Dreams. It also includes the kitties from Purrfectly Wicked, although they aren't wicked here, they're getting ready for Christmas! All images are colored with Copic markers and the platform is made from the Let it Shine paper pack. The sentiment is from the Winter Scripty Sentiments.

Harvest blessings

Another Newton card! I can't help it-he's a favorite. Colored with Copics, the papers are from Hobby Lobby, and the embellishments are from Trinity Stamps. The oval was cut with Newton's Nook oval set. I promise to provide some non-cat cards and projects soon! No posts until Monday, due to family obligations.

New Inky Paws Challenge!

This challenge uses the colors coral, wine red, denim blue, and caramel brown. Using the Newton's Nook Oval Frames set, I cut the concentric ovals and then added the kitty from Newton's Birthday Bash. It's hard to see in the picture but the ribbon on the present is shimmery from the Wink of Stella I used. I fussy cut the sentiment (I know-more fussy cutting) and popped it and the picture up on thin foam squares.

Be Thankful

This card was made for an Inky Paws color challenge a while back. I believe the colors were black, cream, orange, and green. Not sure if the bundle in the center is supposed to be corn or wheat, but it looks sufficiently fallish either way. I got the kitties a lot darker than I intended, but live and learn. I colored the scene with Copic markers and then used the Newton's Nook Frames and Flags die set to cut out the pieces of the card. The gingham paper is from the Newton's Nook Autumn paper pad, and the solids I had in my stash.

Cat Lovers Hop is here again!

I made this fun kitten ornament for the 2022 Cat Lovers Hop. Last year was the first year I participated, and I was only on Instagram. This year I like my entry much better-it's amazing what you can learn in a year. I used a Hero Arts ornament die to cut it out of some light blue linen textured cardstock and used Lawn Fawn's Snow Flurries stencil and Fairy Dust paste to add some sparkle to the background. The stamp is also from Lawn Fawn-it was a gift with purchase earlier this fall and does not have a coordinating die, which left me fussy cutting it-I don't like fussy cutting, for the record.  I think it came out fairly well. I colored it with Copic markers and used Wink of Stella on the white part of the stocking for more sparkle. I'm so sorry! I've tried and tried to add the badge, but I'm doing something wrong and it won't let me. I hope Orlando is not too mad at me!

Fall Fun!

Using Lawn Fawn's platform pop-up and add-on, I created this fall scene. The hedgehog is going to undo all the cat's hard work when he lands in that leaf pile! And the fox is just peeking out to watch the aftermath. Other stamp sets used were Purrfectly Wicked, Jump for Joy, and Into the Woods. The images were colored with Copic markers.

Fall Breeze, Autumn Leaves

This card incorporates the Newton's Nook Autumn paper pad, their Frames and Flags die set, and the Autumn Newton stamp set. The image was colored with Prismacolor colored pencils. I love the colorful leaves in the fall, and where I live we really don't get much in the way of changing leaves, so this card represents my wish. I had to make Newton a Siamese this time to honor the cat I had growing up.

Newton's Color Challenge #170

This card is for the Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge #170. It's a color challenge, using the colors pistachio green, golden yellow, navy blue, and white. I used the stamp Newton's Birthday Balloons and some patterned papers I had in my stash. I colored the image with Copic markers and cut it out with the coordinating dies. I mounted Newton and the cloud on some thin foam squares and accented with navy Pops of Color.

Newton Loves Springtime!

Posting a day early because I won't be able to tomorrow. I was so honored to be chosen as a Designer's Favorite in the last Newtons's Nook Challenge #168, which was a sketch challenge. This card is for Newton's Nook's Challenge #169, which was a theme challenge and the theme is Think Spring. I chose a stamp of Newton surrounded by eggs as well as his bunny and chick friends. I used pink and polka dot paper, popped the image and sentiment up on some foam squares, and accented with some fun sequins.
