You're not forgotten!

I am in the process of building my new website at christilynscreations.com, so I'm posting over there right now. Some of the content duplicates this site and some is new as I'm setting things up. Feel free to go have a look, though I warn you, it is a work in progress.

Birthday wishes

This card is for my sister-in-law, whose birthday was yesterday. She likes gold, but I couldn’t make gold flowers, so I settled for yellow, with a gold heat embossed sentiment and gold embellishments. The stencil and stamp combination are called Buds and Blossoms by Taylored Expressions, and the Sentiment Staples stamp set is also by Taylored Expressions. The inks are Simon Hurley’s Later Gator and Slippery When Wet, Ranger Archival Ink in Sunflower, and Gina K. Sweet Mango. I used Ranger’s Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder in Gold, and Gorgeous Gold Baubles from Trinity Stamps.

In other news, this is my 100th post, and I want to thank all my readers and commenters, but especially my friend who gave me the impetus to start this blog back up and be consistent in posting. S.T., I can’t thank you enough. I’ll also be moving from Blogger to my own website soon, so stick around for that announcement.

Happy Easter!

I did some tone on tone stenciling using the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Eggs stencil and Bubblegum Pink, Peach Bellini, Lemon Drop, Applemint, Sea Glass, and Lovely Lavender inks from Gina K. I topped it with the Giant Happy Easter die from Lawn Fawn. I stacked several die cuts to give it dimension. I then trimmed it with the Large Rectangle Stackables from Lawn Fawn and attached to a mint panel from my stash with foam tape. Hard to believe Easter’s almost here!

Fantastical fun

This card is in honor of my nephew, who loves fantasy. I used the Waffle Flower Open Book die, Dragon Castle coloring stencil, and Open Book Sentiments stamp set. I used Gina K. inks in Blue Denim, Red Hot, and Sweet Corn for the dragon and book. The gold accents are done with Simon Hurley’s Lunar Paste in Slippery When Wet and the background is Hero Arts Bold Script. All the black ink is Tsukineko VersaFine Onyx Black.

Eggstra special Easter

I started with a panel of Lawn Fawn’s Ballet Slippers cardstock, cut with their Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I stamped the sentiment from Eggstra Special Easter, also by Lawn Fawn, with Versafine Onyx Black ink at the top. I stamped the bunnies and basket from the same set with Jet Black ink and colored them with Copic markers. The egg was cut from vellum with the Outside In Easter Egg Stackables. I glued the basket to the vellum and the vellum to the card, and popped the bunnies up with foam squares.

Éire go deo!

Which means Ireland Forever! It’s a few days early, but I wanted to share this St. Patrick’s Day card. I only used three shades of green instead of forty, but I still like the effect. Stamps are by Lawn Fawn, their Celebration Scripty Sentiments and Simply Celebrate Spring sets, along with their Noble Fir ink. The other two colors are Later Gator and Fake Plant, both by Simon Hurley for Ranger. I also used Ranger’s Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder in gold and Simon Says Stamp Gold Matte cardstock. The panels were cut with Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables, and the top panel was popped up on Altenew foam tape.

Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday to Lawn Fawn and me! Lawn Fawn is turning sixteen, and well, let’s just say I’m considerably older. This card uses the Giant Birthday Messages stamp & die set, as well as the birthday incentives from 2022-2025, Party Pig, Party Deer, Party Beaver, and Party Cat(Party Fox arrived too late to join in this year.) The images were colored with a mix of Copic markers and Pigma Micron pens, as well as a Pentel Sunburst Metallic Gel for the gold. The center message was mounted on gold cardstock on thin foam squares, and the animals on standard foam squares. Happy birthday to everyone who celebrates this month!

Spring love

This happy bunny couple is ready for Easter on this sweet Lawn Fawn card. All the solid cardstock is Lawn Fawn, and I also used their patterned papers from the Spiffy Speckles, Perfectly Plaid Remix, and Flower Market collections. Build-A-Bunny and Build-A-Bunny Accessories dies were used to cut out the bunnies and their clothing and accessories. The bunnies and background were assembled with liquid glue and then the panel was popped up on foam tape.

Spring has sprung!

I created this sweet spring card using Newton’s Nook’s Postage Layout die, Frames and Flags die, and Easter Postage Sampler stamps and dies. The images were colored with Prismacolor pencils and mounted on foam squares, and the yellow basket weave paper is from the Newton’s Nook Happy Easter pack. It certainly seems springlike here in Texas, with temperatures in the 80s!

A huge thank you to the Newton’s Nook Design Team, who chose this card to be featured in the Inky Paws Challenge! It means a lot to me!

Quadrant eggs

This stamp and die set is by Pretty Pink Posh and called, appropriately enough, Easter Eggs. The sentiment is also from that set. The eggs were colored with Copic markers and mounted on thin foam squares.

Silhouette eggs

These simple silhouette eggs are from the Newton’s Nook Easter Egg Builder set. The egg paper is also Newton’s Nook, from their Happy Easter paper pack. The solids are from my stash. I was inspired by Samantha Mann to use the white designs over the solid eggs, although her finished card is very different.

I promised an announcement about this blog. I set a goal for myself at the beginning of February to post content every day, and I only missed two days. However, it’s taken a toll on me. So I’m going to an every three days posting schedule, and may include other crafts besides cards. I hope you’ll continue to follow along, even though it will be less frequently. I really appreciate all my visitors and commenters.

Simple shaker

Not the most complex card I’ve ever done, and there’s a couple of ink smears, but I love those sequins so much I couldn’t resist using them again. The Happy Easter stamp is by Waffle Flower, and I colored it in with a Crayola colored pencil. The little eggs are from Newton’s Easter Basket by Newton’s Nook and all the ink is LDRS Creative La La Lavender. The sequins are Brutus Monroe’s Spring Mix. I’ll have an announcement tomorrow about the future of this blog, so stay tuned!

Repetition is the key

This card has a simple design-stamps from Lawn Fawn’s Celebration Scripty Sentiments and Hoppy Easter repeated in Gina K.’s Bubblegum Pink, Peach Bellini, Lemon Drop, Applemint, Sea Glass, and Lovely Lavender inks. The large Happy Easter is by Newton’s Nook and is mounted on a vellum shadow layer. Finally, I added sequins from Stage Lights by Trinity Stamps.

Hoppy days are here again

Hoppy Days Ahead is the name of the Simon Says Stamp set I used for the bunny and flower. I colored them both with Copic markers, although the flower didn’t dry to the shade I wanted. I used Newton’s Nook Oval Frames to cut Lawn Fawn’s Spiffy Speckled paper and inked the edges of the rectangle with their Sugarplum ink. Couldn’t find room for a sentiment, but I think the sweet bunny speaks for himself.

You’re on my mind

I have a friend who has been going through some hard times recently, and I’m hoping this card will cheer her up. I used the Concord & 9th On My Mind stencils, stamps, and dies, as well as their Briar Rose, Juniper, and Lemongrass inks and their Briar Rose cardstock.

Sorry folks

I’m really under the weather and don’t have anything new for you tonight. Hoping tomorrow will be better.

Simple and charming

This card uses two new products from Newton’s Nook- their Card Layout 6 die and their Happy Easter paper pack. The aqua outline paper is from my stash and the sentiment is from Newton’s Easter Basket, stamped in Ranger Archival Ink in Aquamarine.

Hoppy Easter!

This Springtime Bunny is one of Lawn Fawn’s paper piecing sets. She was built on their double sided adhesive sheets with paper scraps from my stash. I love paper piecing-it reminds me of jigsaw puzzles, and it’s a great way to use up scraps. The eggs are in the same set, and I mounted them using foam squares on a hill cut from Lawn Fawn’s Flower Market paper with a sky from their Spiffy Speckles paper. The sentiment is from their Hoppy Easter set stamped in their Grape Soda ink.
